It has become a benchmark for hair transplants, and not by chance. Every year tens of thousands of patients arrive from abroad, a figure that speaks for itself. The question is simple: why here?
Costs that make the difference
In Italy, a transplant costs between 4,000 and 15,000 euros. In Turkey the same procedure, with the same number of grafts, costs between 1,500 and 3,000 euros. The difference lies neither in the materials nor in the technique, but in the cost of living and the competitiveness of the market. Clinics offer complete packages that include extraction, implantation, basic follow-up, and often airport transfer and hotel accommodation as well. With the same FUE or DHI technique, the saving is clear.
Experience on a large scale
A Turkish surgeon operates on average on three times as many patients per year as an Italian colleague. This does not mean haste, it means repeated practice. The more procedures you perform, the more you refine the details: the extraction angle, the density, the direction of the follicles. I have spoken with patients who chose Istanbul and Ankara, and almost all of them stress the same thing: the speed and precision of the team.
Standards and regulation
Serious clinics are authorised by the Turkish Ministry of Health. The rules require that at least the doctor is present during the critical phases-extraction and incisions-while specialised technicians handle the implantation. It is not a do-it-yourself job. There are centres that cut corners on cost, but those who search carefully find facilities with international certifications, sterile operating rooms and staff who speak English or Italian.
Visible results in a short time
Someone with grade 3 or 4 baldness (Norwood) already achieves a natural density in a single session of 8-10 hours. Turkish clinics work double shifts to reduce waiting times. The next day you can go home or stay for the check-up. Healing is quick: the scabs fall off in 10-14 days and the new hair becomes visible after 4 months.
I am not saying that every clinic in Turkey is perfect.
