Sourcing Policy

This page explains where the information on albaniahairclinic.com comes from, how we decide whether a source is good enough to rely on, and how we cite it so that you can check it yourself.

The three kinds of source we use

1. Our own clinical experience. What we see in our own practice: how procedures are performed, what recovery looks like, what patients ask. When a statement rests on our own experience, it is written as our experience, not dressed up as published research.
2. Published external sources. Peer-reviewed medical literature, professional bodies in hair restoration and dermatology, and national health authorities. Where a page relies on one, we link to it so you can read it and judge it for yourself.
3. Our own published information. Our prices, our techniques, our packages and our clinic details. These come from us and are ours to state.

How we cite

• A figure that comes from an external source is linked to that source, not to a page that merely repeats it.
• We link to the source we actually read. We do not cite a study from someone else's summary of it.
• We link out even when the source is a competitor's publication or contradicts a claim that would suit us commercially.
• External links point to the source because it was relevant when we wrote the page. They are not endorsements of everything that website publishes.

What we refuse to do

These rules exist because breaking them is the most common way health content becomes misleading:

• No invented statistics. If we cannot point to where a number came from, the number does not go on the page.
• No misattribution. We do not attach an organisation's name to a figure it did not publish.
• No invented patients. No composite cases, no illustrative patients presented as real ones, no quotes we wrote ourselves and attributed to someone else.
• No unsourced medical certainty. Where the evidence is limited or mixed, we say so rather than choosing the version that reads better.

Prices

Prices on this website are our own prices, and they are what we state them to be. A price shown on a page can change, and it is not a quotation for an individual treatment plan — a graft count and a technique have to be agreed before a price means anything. Our published prices are on our hair transplant cost page. Where we describe prices elsewhere in the market, we describe them as a range and say where the range came from.

Photographs

Clinical before-and-after photographs on this website are photographs of our own patients, taken at our clinic. They show one individual at one point in time and are not a prediction of what another person will achieve. We do not use another clinic's photographs, and we do not use stock photographs as if they were our results. The full rules on image licensing and credit are in our Image Licence and Attribution Policy.

AI tools and sourcing

We use AI writing tools to produce drafts, as described in our Editorial Policy. An AI tool is never treated as a source. Any fact, figure or citation that appears in a draft must be traced to a real source by a person before it can be published; anything that cannot be traced is deleted. This is the single check that most of our sourcing rules depend on.

Found a source problem?

If a link is dead, a citation does not support the sentence it is attached to, or a figure looks wrong, tell us at info@albaniahairclinic.com. We treat a bad citation as a factual error, and handle it under our Corrections Policy.
